Ankara Maker Mini Maker Faire 2018

On the 31st of March the second ever Ankara Mini Maker Faire was held. As usual, I was there and I participated with my projects like a polar-coordinate drawing robot, a Raspberry Pi powered TweetBox which I had improved from last time and some of my designs like the fillet gauge and more. This time around, the faire was in a different location which was quite a bit bigger than last time and had attracted a bit more people as it was on a weekend rather than a weekday. It was really awesome to see that every year the maker mowement is getting bigger and more and more people are being interested in it. Also, I got to meet a lot of new people as well as meet some older friends I had met in other Maker Faire’s which is by far one of my favorite things about maker faires: Meeting new people and sharing ideas with each other. However I also must say I hardly got one drawing from the drawbot in the whole day because of curious little fellas were trying to figure out how the robot worked. This resulted in the axis constantly skipping. But it was no problem as that is a part of being a maker: wondering and trying to learn new things. It was a long and tiring day but at the end as always it was well worth it. Just to mention, this time around I was there by myself so I didn’t get to take a lot of pictures 🙂
