Istanbul Maker Faire 2017

What else can I say: the first featured Maker Faire in Turkey and I was a part of it. This past weekend was the official Maker Faire Istanbul 2017, located in the historic Haydarpasa Train Station in Kadikoy, hosting the first ever featured Maker Faire in Turkey and the 3rd annual Maker Faire to be held in Istanbul, promoting the spread of the Maker movement and the sharing of ideas and projects from different individuals, groups and companies. With more than 30 thousand visitors and around 70 makers, this was on a whole new level compared to the other events in Turkey. And when all the facts like the iconic location and increasing popularity combined, it made for an absolutely brilliant organisation. Again, I was there to show my different projects. But with all Maker Faires, what I loved most was meeting other people with the same passion. From the organisers to other individuals, I met so many people and came across many more I already knew. The location was something even more special. With the makers on one side and the historic trains and the lovely sea on the other (and the freezing cold, hence a coat in all pictures) it was even more charming. Some participants even turned the inside of the trains into everything from hacker paces to drone racing obstacles and photo boots. Overall it was another great experience.
